What an amazing story! My friend used an online network called Tripping (http://www.tripping.com) and had the same great experiences with locals on her recent trip to Mexico. Frankly I was a bit worried for her, fearing she was being a little too naive just trusting that people are good and want to help. But all of her hosts were wonderful. Too bad we didn't have this article to show her mom before the trip!
