I'm sick of this lackluster football. I see it as a huge lack of discipline. I blame the coaching staff for that. There's pre-season and spring practice for working things out with attitudes. If a head coach cannot recognize a problem in that area, he's either blind or not paying attention. Why hire this young OC if not to let him build this offense? Turn him loose, allow him to put the right players in and call some plays that are not totally predictable. It's time for head coach to step aside for the good of the program. He's had a good run but it needs to end, sooner than later.

Wow! [ the season of my ignominious demise?” ] that's a jewel. I remember that like it was yesterday. I remember seeing coach majors a few weeks after that and he appeared to be a broken man, I wonder how such an ouster would effect Coach Fulmer.
It's a sad day in Tennessee but I think Coach would do himself and the University well to step aside gracefully. He has to know it's time.

I hope Coach Summitt is not made to feel "no passion" by her brood of rookies coming in. It will require the special caliber of coaching only 'the best college coach' can offer. There's no reason to think she cannot bring the greenhorn frosh around during the regular season in time to do their usual splendid job in the post season. The one thing that could cause her to "leave it all behind" might be the constant nagging and whining of a certain cry baby instigator from the big east who thrives on stirring up stink and dealing under the table innuendoes to the media regarding Tennessee's stellar coaching staff.

Parker's courage and fearless play was key for the Lady Vol's victory allowing them to play for an eighth National Championship Tuesday night. I have to admit I did not have the same courage to watch the game. I'm not sure I can watch the title match either. My hat's off to the seniors in orange and Pat Summitt and her staff. Tennessee held a very strong LSU team to the lowest scoring semi-final game in history while scoring just enough points off a stifling defense to survive and advance. Who would have thought the Lady Vols could hold Sylvia Fowles' supporting cast to 22 points? Who would have bet against Fowles' 24 points and 20 rebounds? What a ballgame. Sorry I missed it.

Parker's not staying. We could hope for a miracle, or we could expect another All American, all everything, win-at-any-cost-go-to player. I believe the latter expection would be more likely. Candace is going to the left coast. She will be an olympian, a successful pro baller and a happily married forever after superstar, I hope.
It's been great seeing her in Orange, but those days are numbered; two is the number. That's my expectation. I want to see her hoist that big crystal ball and cut down those nets one more time. Then, the Big Orange #3 jersey will take its rightful place in the Thompson Boling Arena rafters.

Hornbuckle played inspired ball against Purdue, it's true, but the key to winning out beginning with the Irish will be Nicky Anosiki. She must impose her will in the paint. She must muster up the kind of energy and courage she showed in last year's Final 4 where she was absolutely unstoppable and confident in her shot selection against NC and Rutgers. Even though she had 10 rebounds in the Purdue game last Tuesday, she was hesitant in putting the ball back up. She allowed herself to get tied up and outplayed in the paint. I look for Nicky to come boldly against the Irish. The Lady Vols have to have a confident post game from now on out.

If you have an ounce of compassion in your body, you have to choke up reading these comments. I was mad at Coach because he couldn't win the games. I was mad because his players were doing stupid stuff on and off the field. I think the game has passed him by and he is not willing to change his style of Xs & Os. At the same time, he has devoted decades of his life to The University of Tennessee. That kind of committment deserves respect from Volunteer fans. Many have turned on Coach Fulmer and have been blasting him mercilessly. I wish he had 'volunteered' to step aside an avoided this kind of departure. I wish him and his family the best.
