Why is it that the morality of the right is limited to reproductive issues and sexuality?

The same people who want to post the 10 commandments on the court house walls are now calling George Zimmerman a victim. Remember the one about ‘Thou shalt not kill”? That was God, according to Moses. Or how about this one? “But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.” That was Jesus (King James Version, Matthew 5:39)
I thought that all your conservatives were Christian.

Guys and Gals,

I have voted in every election since I was 18, and that has been several. To my recollection, I have always been asked to show an ID. My voter registration card or drivers license. I was then asked to sign my name and the poll worker would compare my signature to the signature on my ID. We have always had to show ID to vote. To suggest that someone is walking into polling places and voting for their dead grandfather is ludicrous. What is different now is that only certain approved photo IDs are accepted. The type of IDs that are accepted are ones that are typically difficult to obtain if you are poor or elderly, especially if they live in large cities and use public transportation. This is a demographic that usually votes Democratic.

My opinion is that the effort is more directed towards voter suppression than towards voter fraud. If you want to commit voter fraud, give me 1 million dollars and access to the source code that counts the votes on those electronic voting machines. I could make the election turn out any way you want.

These laws will ultimately be struck down.

New drinking game. Every time Joneses posts the word 'pathetic' have another drink. I guess I won't be coming back until after 5.

BTW Joneses, you posted 'Oh what sick individuals we have operating the strings attached, like a puppet, to this pathetic excuse you foolish liberals have as a president.'

I hate to break the news to you but Obama is your President too.

BobMKE,

If Republicans are really interested in teaching people to be self sufficient, then why are they not supporting public education? The best investment that we can possibly make is in education. Why do conservatives always want to cut funding for public education? You can claim that money will not solve the problems, but lots of people spend tons of money to send their kids to private schools like McCallie, GPS, and Baylor.

Rick Santorum called Obama a snob for wanting to give all kids the opportunity to go to college. So, who really wants to teach a man to fish?

BobMKE, have you really thought about what our society would be like without social security, medicare and medicaid? Are you willing to take your parents and grandparents into your home and pay all their medical bills? How about the neighbor up the road who has no children to care for her?

Chet, You miss the point. We would allow Joneses in, or anyone else who wants to come. We don't require everyone to think alike, in fact we kind of like diversity.

I hope that the people who read this forum do not think that Joneses represents the Episcopal church. During the service of Baptism, the Priest asks a series of questions to which the people respond 'I will, with Gods help'. This is called the Baptisimal Covenant. The last question is:

Priest says: Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being? People respond: I will, with God’s help.

Page 305 Book of Common Prayer.

To respect the dignity of every human being includes people with whom you disagree. I hardly think that calling names like 'Libtard' or 'Repugnate' is respectful.

Unfortunately a lot of 'Christians' have read John 3:16, but have not read anything else in the Bible. If you read what Jesus said, he was a pretty radical guy. He was far more concerned about the poor and disenfanchised than about the powerful.

All these tornados are clearly Obama's fault.
