ROSSVILLE Betty Yevonne Tate Hegwood, 77, died Friday, May 25, 2012, peacefully surrounded by family at Erlanger hospital.A resident of Rosewood of Fort Oglethorpe, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.A graduate of Rossville High School in 1953, she was employed by Flav-o-Rich Dairies, Alloy Fabricators and Chickamauga City Schools Central office. Mrs. Hegwood volunteered at Oakwood Baptist Church Library, Chickamauga, Ga., the Colonnade, Ringgold, Ga., and Erlanger-Hutcheson Medical Center Auxiliary ICU.She was preceded in death by spouse, John R. Tate; sisters, Ruby Sprayberry, Louise Jay and Gladys Johnson; mother and father, Tom and Irene Roark.Survivors are daughter, Karen (Mike) Brown, of Birchwood, Tenn.; grandson, Andy (Kate) Brown, of Decatur, Ga.; granddaughter, Keri (Jack) Taylor, of Huntsville, Ala.; great-granddaughter, Nola Brown, of Decatur, Ga. ; many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev.
