BRIDGEPORT Roy Glenn Rorex, 81, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at Grandview Medical Center in Jasper, Tenn.Roy was the son of the late James B. "Pete" and Sallie Sparkman Rorex born April 9, 1930 in Bridgeport. He was a U.S. Marine Cambodian Conflict and Vietnam WarVeteran who retired as Master Sergeant after serving our country 30 years. He was a member of VFW South Pittsburg Local and Steamfitter Gadsden Local 498; Roy had also worked with TVA.Besides his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Wilson; granddaughter, April Crawford; and siblings, Charles B. Smith, James B. Rorex Jr. and Rachel Blevins.Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Bettye Jo Coates Rorex; children, Elizabeth (Marshall) Dill, of Chatsworth, Ga., Kayla Crawford, of Symrna, Tenn., Alan (Glenda) Wilson, of South Pittsburg, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Ralph (Anne) Rorex, of Maryville, Tenn., Richard (Sue) Smith, Rita Campbell, Winifred Hoback, all of Bridgeport, Ala., Mary Katherine Essary, of Chattanooga; a host of other relatives.The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. CSTSunday, Feb, 5, at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Chris Brewer.
