RINGGOLD Grover Lake Jones Jr., 63, of Florence, Ala., passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at home.He was a native of LaFayette, Ga. He was a graduate of LaFayette High School, LaFayette, and after serving in the Air Force in Vietnam, he graduated from Walker Technical School, Rock Spring, Ga. He was a retired General Foreman of 34 years with Norfolk Southern Railway.He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Carolyn Gordy Jones; his father, Grover Lake Jones Sr.; and his brother, Lester Jones.He is survived by his daughter, Amy Alicia (Don) Hudson, Killen, Ala.; son, Robert Eric Jones, Killen, Ala.; mother, Margaret Nell Jones, LaFayette; brother, David Jones, LaFayette; and sister, Sarah Floyd, LaFayette.A visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at the Wilson Funeral Home, from noon-2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow.He will be laid to rest in the Gordy Cemetery beside his wife of 41 years.Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold.
