DELANO Carolyn Hayward Lewis, 61, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 8, 2010, in a Athens Hospital following a short illness.She was the daughter of the late Dorothy Wolfe Hayward and James Hayward. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Lewis and a brother, Jim Hayward. She retired from Duracell after 35 years of service. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Delano.She is survived by her loving companion, Sam Firestone, of Delano; her sister, Patti Angelle, of Cleveland; her brother, Ronnie Hayward, of Chattanooga, Children of her loving companion whom she loved dearly, Becky Jones, Tammy Yates and Chad Firestone, all of Calhoun, Tenn.; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.A Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Rev. Harold Firestone and Rev. Kevin Cheatham officiating.Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Josh Yates, Chad Firestone, Bill Lewis, Terry Lewis, Sam Bettis, Larry Dotson and Rod Spangler serving as pallbearers.The family will receive friends 5 until 8 p.m. today at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes who is in charge of the arrangements.
