SUMMERVILLE Ms. Sara Alexander Phillips, 75, of Mahan Road, passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at her residence.A native of Chattooga County, Ga.She was born to the late Thomas Earl and Belle Talbert Alexander on Apr. 17, 1935.Ms. Phillips was a member of North Summerville Baptist Church and a Master Cosmetologist.For many years she coached girls softball, little league baseball, and basketball.She was preceded in death by a son, the late James Stanley Perkins.Surviving are daughters, Beth Bryant and Philana Robinson, both of Summerville; sons and daughter-in-law, Bart and April Bryant, of Cloudland, and Kane Phillips, of Rome; brother, Ernest Alexander, of Lyerly; grandchildren, Heath Drennan, Kassie Smith, Jade Robinson, and Mallory Phillips; great-grandchildren, Destinee Drennan and Jackson Drennan; special friends, Barry Williams, Maradith Budd, and Allen Neal; several nieces and nephews also survive.Memorial service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Harris and the Rev. Tom Russell officiating.Visitation from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.
