RINGGOLD Robert Stephen Simpson, 61, went home to be with His Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010.He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas and was a member of Beacon Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, going to Panama City Beach and was blessed with a football scholarship to the University of Georgia. He obtained his Doctors Degree from Life College in Atlanta, and more recently had been manager and owner of Sherwood Forest Mobile Homes for more than 20 years. He will be remembered as a wonderful coach for youth basketball and softball for over 12 years, especially with Vipers & Lighting Softball Teams.He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Reba Simpson; and one brother, Richard Simpson.Survivors include his loving wife, Brenda Simpson; daughter, Winter Simpson, both of Ringgold; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and (Bobby) Persinger, of Rossville; two nephews, David and Tim Persinger; several grandnieces and nephews and numerous friends.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with the Rev. Rob Borders officiating.Burial will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.The family will begin receiving friends after 5 p.m. today, all day Saturday and prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.Online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.comArrangements by W.L.
