Carrie Norris, 62, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 in Acworth, Ga.She was born on Oct. 30, 1947 to the late William and Mary Lansden Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmie Norris; sister, Venetta Lansden; and brother, Ronnie Lansden.She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Yvette Benford; son, William H. (Nikki) Benford Jr.; grandchildren, Karie and Kayla Johnson, Tysen, Taylor, Leigha and LaAsia Benford; great-grandchild, Cassi Johnson; sisters, Brenda (Rufus) Williams, of Concord, Tenn., Gloria Lansden and Doris Lansden, both of Chattanooga, Linda (Andre) Parks, of N. Little Rock, Ark.; brother, William Lansden Jr., of Chattanooga; half brothers, Todd (Felecia) Lansden, William D. (Jennifer) Lansden, Gary Lansden and Twan (Lisa) Lansden, all of Chattanooga; half sisters, Cynthia (Kevin) Russell, Chandra (Gerry) Davis, Vickey Russell, Adrian Richardson, Rusha Smith all of Chattanooga; brothers-in-law, Eddie (Joann) Norris, Nevaughn (Evelyn) Norris, both of Indianapolis, Ind., Eugene Norris, of Philadelphia, Pa., John (Faye) Norris, of Orlando, Fla., Cordell (Lula) Norris, of Atlanta, Willie Norris, of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Janie Norris McDuffie, Glenda (George) Williams, both of Chattanooga and Harriett Norris Williams, of Atlanta; aunts, Ora Scott, of Chattanooga and Martha Hereford, of Huntsville, Ala.; uncle, Gurdon Robinson of Chattanooga; a host of other family members and friends.Funeral: Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Henry officiating.Burial: Highland Memorial Gardens.The body will lie-in-state today after noon at the funeral home.
