Ada Mae "Mammy" Mitchell, 93, of Signal Mountain, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010.She was born Sept. 4, 1916 in Somerville, Tenn., to the late Billy G. and Ada Dee Mitchell. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of First Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Steam Craft Cleaners for many years.Her husband, Thomas E. Mitchell; sister, Laverna Haley; and brother, W.K. Smith preceded her in death.Survivors include her sons, Billy G. (Gloria) Mitchell, of East Ridge, Jerry Wayne (Jane) Mitchell, of Harrison; granddaughters, Melissa "Missy" (Johnny) Rash, of Fort Oglethorpe, Carla (Rodney) Poindexter, of Signal Mountain, Angie (Greg) Wright, of Rossville; seven great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the East Chapel with the Rev. Robert Schrader officiating.Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Johnny Rash, Greg Wright, Rodney Poindexter, Dusty Wright, Garrett Wright, Jonathan Rash, Ricky Nelson, and Wesley Barnett serving as pallbearers.
