Construction workers topped off BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee’s new downtown Chattanooga campus on Thursday by ceremonially placing a tree atop the final structure to be completed. The ceremony marked the completion of work on the concrete shells of the five structures on Cameron Hill.

Take a tour of McNabb Mines, a late 1800s coal boomtown in Marion County. The town, also known as Shakerag, was home to 50 to 100 people and was abandoned between 1903 and 1910. The site has been added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Video: Hoffa trial documentary
Teamsters Union boss Jimmy Hoffa was found guilty of jury tampering at a 1964 trial in Chattanooga. He was sentenced to eight years in prison. Advanced Video Solutions recently completed a documentary on the trial commissioned by the Federal Bar Association for private use. A public showing of the hour-long movie is set for the local Back Row Film Series in July.

T.J. Johnson was in a car wreck at the age of 16 and was in a coma for nine months. He is currently 18 and has brain damage that limits his cognitive abilities and keeps him in a wheelchair most of the time. Despite his hardships, he attended his Central High School senior prom on April 26.

Video: Chattanooga traffic concerns
Chattanooga traffic officials have released a list of the highest-rated intersection accident locations for 2006. With 51 accidents, or 6.53 accidents per million vehicles entering the intersection, Hixson Pike North at Highway 153 North was the most dangerous location. Video: Hamilton Place expansion
CBL & Associates Properties is planning to expand and improve Hamilton Place mall with 20 to 30 specialty shops in an outdoor village setting. CBL executives hope to win approval from the Tennessee General Assembly and the Chattanooga City Council to charge an additional tax to shoppers at Hamilton Place and nearby CBL properties to help fund the project.
