Kris Allen, the ultimate underdog, has made one of the biggest comebacks in television history! After 620 million votes, 19 weeks, 100,000 auditions, an extra judge and a bikini girl, Kris Allen is your new “American Idol.” The all-American, married boy next door defeated the glammed-out, leather-clad rocker and now is the 8th reigning champ in the Idol kingdom.

The last songs have been sung, and tomorrow either Adam Lambert or Kris Allen will be our new “American Idol.”

Adam Lambert and Kris Allen will face off next week during the eighth season of “American Idol.”

Tonight’s “American Idol” gave us Danny, Kris and Adam battling it out for a spot in the final with an Idol and judge song choice. The guys took the gloves off and gave it their all. Tomorrow’s result show is going to be a nail biter!

The show opened with a performance of “School’s Out” featuring the 4 contestants remaining in season 8 of American Idol, along with Slash, who mentored the group this week.

Idols rocked the house!

The pressure was on for the five remaining American Idol finalists last night as they performed standards, vying it out for that coveted Top 4 position.

T-minus three weeks until the “American Idol” finale and we are now on the hunt for who will go head to head with Adam for the crown.

After tonight's Idol, who will be "Staying Alive?"

The judges have saved Matt Giraud, and no one was booted off “American Idol” tonight. Matt Giraud received the least amount of votes, just as I predicted in my blog Tuesday night, but the dueling piano man from Kalamazoo, Mich., will get a second chance to win over America. I believe he can do it, but as Simon said, it will be hard since next week is disco week.

I am excited to say I will be singing in Chattanooga this week.

After a night packed full of show stopping performances by several contestants which included a standing ovation for Adam Lambert by Simon Cowell, there was little doubt that Scott MacIntyre and Lil Rounds would be in the bottom three for tonight’s elimination.

I am honored tonight to be hosting Felicia Barton (who was a semi-finalist this year on Idol) at my home with her husband and two-year-old son. As our kids are running around the house screaming and making messes together, she is giving me the scoop on the contestants that are still in the competition.

Last night, “American Idol” finalists enjoyed an open book of song possibilities. Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey shined as usual, while dark horse Kris Allen made another step toward the top of the pack with a brilliant arrangement of “Ain’t No Sunshine.”
