about Clay Bennett...
The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

DON'T BET AGAINST ROMNEY
Being two-faced, Mitt was able to devote extra time prepping/sparring with himself.

Did the president learn those martial arts during his formative years in Asia?
Bruce Lee was Obama's teacher:

Chuck Norris might have given Romney a few tips, to help prevent 1,000 years of darkness... anyone for scaremongering?
Good one, Clay. But somehow, I envisioned Willard with Bruno Magli boots and gold lamé boxers. Wait... what's that lump in his glove? A "zinger"?
Bennett has found another rut to get himself stuck in. Didn't he get the memo about the need to downplay expectations for Obama's performance tonight?
The TV media managers are thrilled and will beneift more than anyone from the debates. The media knows they will decide who will win. Check out who they agreed to as moderators, Romney's campaign managers blew it. Listen to the questions as much or more than the answers. Switch between CNN and FOX afterwards and you will wonder if they watched the same debate you did.
BRP wrote: "Bennett has found another rut to get himself stuck in. Didn't he get the memo about the need to downplay expectations for Obama's performance tonight?"
Apparently Chris Christie didn't get the memo;
"Wednesday night is the restart of this campaign, and I think you're going to see those numbers start to move right back in the other direction."
"And I'm telling you, Thursday morning, you're all going to be scratching your heads and saying, 'Wow, we have a barn-burner now for the next 33 days.' "
In the debate, I doubt you will see either of the candidates doing a Perry head-scratch, a Biden gaffe or a Ryan "gotcha". If either stumbles to that extent, they need to be disqualified. Voters are looking at real issues this election, not some media talking-heads' distraction issues.

Good God, harp! Are you already crying foul? LOL! Tell me, who is responsible for hiring the campaign managers? So, the moderators are biased, the campaign managers are inept... why would Mitty agree to a debate in the first place? How will he ever survive? If Mitt seems quirky and jerky, spinning around as if on a turntable with his chin tucked in, I will blame the moderators. Does he have any physical maladies or distractions we should consider when making excuses for him?
Thanks for the lesson on how to watch a debate. I will pay close attention to the questions asked, in case the moderator runs for office some day.
It looks like in this cartoon Hussein Obama is getting ready to take a dump as Mitt Romney has obviously scared the s%$t out of him. Or it could be Hussein Obama is afraid all his lies have finally caught up with him and the people se him for the pathological liar he has proven to be.
joneses wrote: "It looks like in this cartoon Hussein Obama is getting ready to take a dump as Mitt Romney has obviously scared the s%$t out of him."
As someone who routinely takes a dump every time you post in this forum, it is most fitting that you would look at the above cartoon and make such a proposition.
"it could be Hussein Obama is afraid all his lies have finally caught up with him and the people se him for the pathological liar he has proven to be."
You know all about that one too. How many times have you been shown to be guilty of expressing pure crapola?
Your definition of a lie and that of most people differ quite a bit, but you do know what a lie is, for you have related them repeatedly in this forum.
Mitt Romney has scored a far worse record of relating intentional lies as he has progressed through his campaign, and what's worse, when faced with those lies, he has refused to back away from them.
Isn't he supposed to be the super-religious one? Are Mormons not duty-bound to follow the Ten Commandments?
How can people root for a man who has shown himself to be so totally dishonest as a candidate, and expect that the man will keep his promises if elected as President?
Al, You are right ,how can anyone vote for a candidate totally dishonest like Obama. He lies about the lies he has told. There are so many people from his past under the bus it is getting really crowded.

Traditionally Kenyan tribal garb. Still no toon extolling anything King Kenyan's every done. Still waiting, Tooney.
I notice Obama is in the Crouching Tiger stance and Mitt is in the Plodding Zinger stance. Should be an interesting bout.
Look at the people Romney had to debate during the primary: Herman Cain with his 999 plan (which turned upside down is really 666). Rick Perry who couldn't remember the names of the departments he wanted to abolish; Michelle Bachmann a wild-eyed joke with some of the most outlandish gibberish ever uttered; Newt Gingrich the man who wanted to start a colony on the moon; Ron Paul the let'em die doctor; Rick "mad dog" Santorum, the Catholic Church emissary; John Huntsman he was out before he was ever in; and last but certainly not least Tim Pawlenty who did have the good sense to get out when he realized it was a lost cause.
Mitt Romney debated them all on stage and then off stage he destroyed their credibility with a leak about Cain's affairs; Gingrich was made to look like he was schizo; Rick Perry was seen as inept; and the list goes on. Other than Huntsman, Romney was debating certified idiots. If he's not on his "A" game tonight he will be the one looking like an idiot.

Stay classy, Mr. President to the 47%
Hmmmm . . . It sort of looks to me like Mitt Romney’s eyes are focusing more on his own gloves than President Obama. . . Yes, I think so. . . Maybe Romney is afraid that left glove of his is going to fly up and punch him in the nose.
THE REPUBLICAN GHOST TOWN
Mitt Romney has no new ideas, but he’s a Republican. The Republican Party has no new ideas. Their idealogical alpha and omega is tax cuts for the rich. Every issue radiates around that like spokes from a hub.
Take Romney’s notorious 47% comment when he said almost half the country pays no federal income tax. He added that those people were freeloaders who expected YOU to support their lazy butts. He ignored the fact that many of those bums routinely vote republican. Railing against those who don’t pay their fair share is a good reason to raise their taxes. But why focus on 47% of Americans who (theoretically) are tax cheats? So you ignore the 1% who are not paying the same tax rate as the rest of us.
Mitt’s going after Welfare, too. His ad claims Obama gutted the work requirement. That’s a lie, but why lie about Welfare? Besides to get independent working class whites — part of the 47 - ticked off at a non-issue (Obama didn't gut the work requirement) to vote republican? To ignore stuff like $5 billion from tax payers to oil companies every year for no apparent reason.
I’m sure you all can think of many more examples. Medicare. Medicaid. Pell Grants. Food stamps and school lunches.
But the problem is not Romney. It’s a GOP problem. If you ignore for a moment the issue of massive tax cuts for the rich, what else does the Republican Party stand for? What are their other big ideas?
I live in the swing state of Florida where Romney TV ads flood the airwaves all day and all night, and they all have something in common. Not one Romney ad was positive or hopeful or inspiring. They were all negative and fearful and apocalyptic. Obama is not American. (lie) Be afraid. He's a foreigner. (lie) Be afraid. He took over a bad economy and made it worse. (lie) Be afraid.
Once upon a time Ronald Reagan ran for President and he faced an incumbent Democratic President struggling with a bad economy. Reagan won that election because he never stopped talking about American greatness, that shining city on a hill.
Tonight, President Obama will talk about America's greatness and promise to restore that shining city on a hill. Not Mitt. He's gotta try to scare you into voting Republican.
The GOP is selling fear because they ran out of hope. Their one-trick pony is now a withered old nag. The Republican Party now occupies an ideological ghost town void of big ideas…new or otherwise.
Mitt Romney is a buffoon.
Blackie, don't you get tired of the same old talking points you keep parroting?
blackie said "Tonight, President Obama will talk about America's greatness and promise to restore that shining city on a hill."
Since when has BHO (blessing be upon him) EVER talked about America's greatness?
Since 2001 we have lost 2000 troops in the Afghan war while at the same time over 5000 people have been murdered in Chicago, that city in which Obama "community organized." He needs to go back there and start over now that his former chief of staff is mayor. They could make a great team, lots of opportunity for improvement.

Yeah right. What is the source for your statement? You wouldn't be confusing this with the yahoo in Nashville who posted a picture of a gun on facebook as a welcome mat for the President to Tennessee? Of course, as soon as that sick wimp made headlines and got the attention of the Secret Service he began to whine like a toddler with a dirty diaper.
It's always amazing to me how wimps like that gun toting yahoo in Nashville want to come off as so "macho" and threatening until they are asked to back up what they have done. Then they turn into everyday common "punks" whining about how something was blown out of proportion. They never take responsiblity for their stupid actions.

A: Yes. Obama made those remarks at a fundraiser in Philadelphia during the 2008 presidential campaign. He was paraphrasing a quote from the 1987 mob movie "The Untouchables."
Obama attended a fundraiser June 13, 2008, at the Sheraton in downtown Philadelphia. Wall Street Journal reporter Amy Chozick provided a "pool report." This is a report of an event provided to all in the media by the one reporter allowed to cover it, when circumstances will not allow for the entire press corps to cover it directly. In her blog, Chozick wrote at the time that the campaign of Republican nominee John McCain criticized Obama for the gun reference. She also said this about the quote's context: "Obama made the comment in the context of warning donors that the general election campaign against McCain could get ugly."
The Morning Call of Allentown, Pa., published the entire pool report, which included the quote now attributed to Obama.
Chozick, June 13, 2008: He [Obama] warned that the general election campaign could get ugly. “They’re going to try to scare people. They’re going to try to say that ‘that Obama is a scary guy,’ ” he said. A donor yelled out a deep accented “Don’t give in!”
“I won’t but that sounded pretty scary. You’re a tough guy,” Obama said.
“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said. “Because from what I understand folks in Philly like a good brawl. I’ve seen Eagles fans.”
So, yes, Obama said it and now you have the context..."

I read this morning that pro wrestling invited to both Obomber and Obamney to a no holds barred deathmatch-er, debate. At least it’d be more entertaining and we might see (though ever so slight) Obama not being a pussy, and just how Romney cheats so well. The Learning Channel is sponsoring the event as ‘Smackdown the Vote'.
From what I’ve read so far, the two corporate shills – er I mean candidates, have thought over the possibility of participating. Romney said he liked it because it was originally his idea, then said he didn’t like the idea and as of today has yet to commit himself – or to anything for that matter. Obama indicated he would only if he could use drones on Mitt after caving in upon entering the ring. There is no word as to whether or not Joe Biden and Paul Ryan would be allowed to participate in a ‘Tag Teaming'. It is rumored however that Ryan has offered Biden ‘Tag Team’ vouchers if he promised not to hit him.
The play by play should be quite animated with Alex Jones announcing. Former governor, movie star, seasoned veteran and all around good guy Jesse Ventura has agreed to referee the bout, but has also demanded the WWE include third party candidates as well. The format of the debate is undetermined, though a steel cage match (like the UFC) hasn’t been ruled out, and acknowledged by many as a huge improvement over the current format. Clint Eastwood is slated to head up seating arrangements.
Just before the main event - Tim Gietner and Lloyd Blankfein can seen in the side alley placing bets on both candidates to lose. At the far end, with just his head showing behind a dirty green dumpster is Jamie Dimon. And curiously there are number of well-dressed men (Congressmen & Senators I believe) on their knees directly in front of him, heads bobbing in a manner reminiscent of roosters.
Sarah Palin said she and her new BFF Michelle Bachmann will be watching from her back porch.
MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, on hearing about these debates, was so dumbfounded that for the first time in his life, he was unable to comment. Fox's Sean Hannity immediately blurted that this is truly a cultural event and an affirmation of American exceptionalism.
The official doctor for the event, Ron Paul shrugged and said, "I hope Ventura takes them both down and gets elected President."
I agree Ron, I agree.
I;m supprised that you folks haven't learned yet that Al's head is so far up Obamas backside that he doesn't really have a grip on what you are trying to say to him!He just keeps on posting the same ole drivel and watches to see what "sticks on the wall"!

Obama begins his address with “a special shout out” to Jeremiah Wright, the Chicago pastor who nearly derailed Obama’s campaign months later when his sermons attacking Israel and America and accusing the U.S. government of “inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color” became public. To the audience at Hampton, Obama describes Wright as, “my pastor, the guy who puts up with me, counsels me, listens to my wife complain about me. He’s a friend and a great leader. Not just in Chicago, but all across the country.”

You give her too much credit. Copying and pasting the procession of Politifact's rulings isn't quite the same as typing.
The list was quite impressive, but a lie is only a lie if it is known to be a lie at the time it is told. Just because Politifact rules a statement false, it does not mean that the person relating the false information intentionally lied.
A great many of those ruled false were done so because they were told without the President having all the facts in evidence, due to outdated or updated information, were mistatements as presented, or were rated false for technical reasons. Very few rise to the level as intentional lies.
Be that as it may, the question was posed to degage. I wanted HIM to back up HIS accusation, and as we see, degage is focused on antiquated accusations that most people even dismissed back in 2008 as hyperbole.
tu_quoque seems to think it is her responsibility to come to the rescue of every Republican cheerleader challenged, and as usual, her effort to copy that list of false statements misses the mark in proving that the President relates lies in high numbers.
The only black belt The Socialist has is in BS...provided he has Mr TelePrompter around...otherwise he is The Liar.
listing Romney's lies from the same site would take too long, so this is a better comparison of ruling for all statements they have looked at for each of them:
Obama True 94 (22%)
Mostly True 100 (24%)
Half True 109 (26%)
Mostly False 50 (12%)
False 60 (14%)
Pants on Fire 6 (1%)
http://www.politifact.com/personalities/barack-obama/
Romney True 28 (16%)
Mostly True 23 (13%)
Half True 49 (28%)
Mostly False 30 (17%)
False 28 (16%)
Pants on Fire 16 (9%)
So Obama has 46% ruled True or Mostly True while Romney only rates 29%
"Bob and weave, and lie like an obamist sonfobitch alprova."
You, of all people, have no standing or credibility to call anyone else a liar. In the face of being proved time and again to be relating false information, I have yet to read one retraction from you.
I always immediately fess up whenever anyone proves something I present as fact to be false. You have never to this date proven me to have related so much as one false statement.
"The problem alpo is that not everyone feeds at the rump of Obama as you do. There are more sources than just CNN and NPR and you sound like an idiot."
yaaaaaawwwwwwnnnnn...
It really chaps your ass that someone like myself actually supports the President, and that I take the time to counter the vast amount of misinformation, rumors, and outright lies that people like yourself feed on like rats.
Your charge that I only read or watch CNN and NPR is an easily proven false statement. I cite many sources to refute falsehoods, and I have never cited CNN or NPR to do it.
I don't spend my time in any effort to change the minds of you Obama bashers. You're a lost cause.
I do it for those who do care about the truth and the facts, to counter the efforts by some to demean a man who's only true crime in life, for the lack of any reasonable explanation, was to be born with ebony skin.
Mostly False / False / Pants on Fire rulings for each:
Obama: 27%
Romney: 42%
JonRoss wrote: "So you Progressive thugs, another border agent was butchered in Arizona."
Butchered? Really? Are you sure he was not simply shot in the line of duty and died as a result of his injuries?
Is there some reason why you felt the need to only address "progressive thugs" with that announcement? Are you under some illusion that people you label with that particular phrase do not keep up with current events, and are also aware that an officer lost his life as the result of gunfire?
"Was he killed because of a video or something in which a taco was carnally violated or something ? No doubt that is what will ooze from the White House tonight"
What a brilliant statement. Of course, it will prove to be false.
You type something like that and expect that you have an ounce of credibility when accusing others of lying?
You're one of many people who live to top each other's incredible statements, thinking that you are believed for one second.
What do I care what any of you people believe? The President has an 80% chance of being elected next month. Mitt has a 15% chance.
Type away...all it indicates is that there are going to be some severely disappointed people four and a half weeks from now, whose life will go on.
What will you folks do for the next four years, knowing that Obama will not be running for an election?
I am curious whether Romney will be able to give up the "Hallmark Card" approach this evening for something a wee bit more substantive. We're seeing far too much:
"To my good friend, America . . ."
"Sorry to hear you were having a bad economy."
"Tax cut! Five point plan! Support Israel!"
"Hope you feel better soon - Mitt"

BlueCross BlueShield Announces Plans To Eliminate 100 Jobs
Wednesday, October 03, 2012
BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee announced Wednesday that it will be eliminating 100 jobs and leaving 100 more jobs unfilled next year. The cuts will be made across the state in an attempt to save on operating costs.
The insurance company, which employs about 5,000 people, is headquartered in Chattanooga with offices in Jackson, Johnson City, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville. The positions that will be cut range from jobs in the operations center to those in executive management.
Bill Gracey, CEO-elect said the health insurance industry is very competitive and is undergoing changes that require companies to find ways to operate more efficiently. He said the layoffs are unavoidable yet necessary to make the company stronger and their product affordable.
Gracey points to challenges stemming from the Affordable Care Act's medical loss ratio restriction and a new $200-million-plus tax excise they will be paying annually beginning in 2014 as factors leading to the decision to make employee cuts. He called the decision a tough one and said the company has attempted to streamline processes and find more efficient ways to fulfill its mission to their members, but these attempts were not enough.
tderng wrote: "Thanking God and praying the U.S.A. survives those four years."
Totally serious question...
What gives you any reason whatsoever to think that the U.S.A. will not "survive" if Obama is reelected? The assertion is rather silly.
Despite all the claims to the contrary, this country is better off than it was before he walked into the Oval Office for the first time. There simply is no way to refute that simple fact, despite any and all wing-flapping coming from the right-wingers.
As hard as some people have worked to make the current President a one-term prospect, he will be reelected to a second term. And all these last ditch efforts to bring up ancient history are not going to work any better to sway minds than they did four years ago.
From the movement to limit access of certain people to the polls, to the total partisan gridlock in Congress, to five years of people bashing the President time after time on anything and everything, the fact is that most of the voters in this nation who will go to the polls next month, see this crap for what it is, which is nothing short of pure desperation.
Many of you Republican cheerleaders want to see Mitt Romney become the 45th President of the United States. What gives you any reason to think that this man can do a thing better as President than the current President has? What's in it for you? What magic wand do you think he will produce and wave, that will make your life any better?
His own home state, comprised of people who once elected him as Governor, is overwhelmingly refusing to support his Presidential bid. Why?
If he was as great a Governor as he has claimed on the campign trail, then why are the people Massachussets turning their backs on the man? Do any of you ever ask that simple question?
Mitt Romney really, really wants to be the next President. He'd buy the job if it were possible. He's certainly well funded enough to do so. But all of his money will not buy his way into the Oval Office, any more than it will buy his way into a favorable position in the afterlife of his personal belief.
Tonight he will have what will essentially his last attempt to change the minds of the few people in this nation that he is the better prospect for President.
Can he do it?
Sorry to get you steamed, harp, but I just can't suffer through any more of that false objectivity. You paint a picture, with every post, of a thoughtful citizen who, after studiously weighing up all the ins and outs of a subject, comes to a totally unbiased opinion, when, in fact, you ALWAYS come down on the right hand side of every issue. If I were new to this comment forum, I would think that you were a true fence sitter, which would add credence to your posts, and thereby lies the insidiousness of your MO. Your CHET-FLAME response might be the first spirited, nonzombiesque entry I've ever seen from you. Git ya some!
O.k. folks, just read and reread alprovas half-wit comments above and you will see the wilfull ignorance of the Progressive mindset.
Rolando wrote: "The only black belt The Socialist has is in BS...provided he has Mr TelePrompter around...otherwise he is The Liar."
You know, as someone who is currently a recipient of a product of the kind of Socialism that you attack all the time, you'd think you'd be kinder to someone who has dedicated his life to making sure that your direct deposit is good each and every month.
You're not the only person in this nation who has worked for a living, nor the only person who feels entitled to what you receive from the Gov't, which has indeed supported you for all of your working life.
You Sir are nothing more than a walking, talking, hypocrite.
You're another in a long line of people who have graced this forum with your own set of false representations, that have been shot down time after time, and to this date, you have never admitted to one of them.
No matter how hard you or anyone else works to tear the man down, he will always have his place firmly established in the history books that future generations will read, his biography will never include the lies that you have attempted to spread, and you?...well I don't know where your consistently negative spewing soul will be hanging out, but what's left of your carcass will be rotting in the ground.

You write that as if you have ever offered a doggone thing in this forum that would indicate that you have an ounce of intelligence.
How many teeth do you have left in your mouth?

Listen to Obama's fake accent alpo. Contrary to Obama's previous statement about not really knowing or following Wright, In the second video, he claims they're old friends.

Obama: Two Standards - Don Imus vs. Jeremiah Wright
Obama: Two Standards - Don Imus vs. Jeremiah Wright by NHaleMedia
The double standards of the racist-in-chief.
Limric reported: “The official doctor for the event, Ron Paul shrugged and said, "I hope Ventura takes them both down and gets elected President." I agree Ron, I agree.”
Hey, Limric, I hate to be the one to pass along bad news, but there has been an update since your report. Shortly after you appointed Ventura to the Presidency, he called Ron Paul and asked him to be his Vice-President. The good doctor Paul thought about it for a few minutes, said what the heck, and agreed to become Ventura's Vice President.
On route to the White House, the freedom-loving duo made the mistake of stopping by the Republican Headquarters to attend to some crazed Republicans who needed medical attention. They couldn’t afford healthcare insurance and were too darn stubborn to sign up for Obamacare.
While Paul was attending to his crazed Republicans patients, a Karl Rove look-alike with dull pasty skin came into the room, handed the newly appointed President and Vice President a piece of paper, and asked for their autograph. The unsuspecting duo shrugged and obliged. The next thing they knew they found themselves on a bus heading for some mysterious location deep in the South called the Ayn Rand Free Clinic for Crazed Republicans.
It seems that the paper Ventura and Paul had signed for the man with the dull pasty skin was actually a contract written in invisible republican ink. Paul had unknowingly agreed to provide free physician services to any Republican and/or Tea Partier in need, and Ventura had agreed to be his nursing assistant. The term of their indenture is seven years.
But toes, don't you understand that Obama's racism is the direct result of Bush's eight years in office or something or another ? You just misunderstand what the President said. And the GOP is distorting the Presidents words by replaying them in public, word for word.
With great love and affection. Alprova
My, my. The loonies are out in force again tonight. Bringing out the old 2008 playbook: Wright, Ayers, birth certificate, Muslim, on and on. Been there, done that. It didn't work in 2008 and it won't work in 2012. What happened to the economy? No plan from the right?
Plan for the economy: QUIT SPENDING SO MUCH DAMN MONEY!!
It takes more of a loony to want Obama for four more.
JonRoss wrote: "Uh uh prove these tapes are real toes. Uh...these tapes are taken out of context. Uh uh these are photo shopped tapes. He never said that. Sincerely, Alprova"
Nope. I'll not be offering any challenge that the President said what is depicted in those videos.
I do have something to ask however...
Do any of you mopes think that anyone who supports the President gives a crap about a Reverend Wright revival?
You're hanging off a cliff and simply and pathetically grasping a blade of grass in total desperation.
Nobody, and I do mean nobody, but a small gathering of Obama bashers, gives two hoots about what the man said about Reverend Wright before he distanced himself from the man after he went totally overboard.
But keep up the good work, both of you, in exposing just how desperate the Romney rooters are becoming.
Time for the debate. Got my bowl of popcorn and a glass full of iced tea, the lights turned down low, the surround sound cranked up, and I'm settling in for the next ninety minutes.
Don't forget your vaseline alpo. Funny how Obama decides to wear a flag pin. Must be burning the hell out of him.
By the way, the video's above show Obama lying out his pie hole.
By the way, the debate going on right now shows Romney lying out of his pie hole.
Obama is wearing a flag pin! That sombich is gonna insult somebody! How dare he wear a flag pin!Panderer in chief!
Flag pin! Flag pin! There's a video of him wearing a flag pin! Blasphemy!
A good debate.
Romney is still sticking with "don't need no stinkin' plans."
Guess he is a guy who just doesn't listen to advice from people trying to help him out, even from his own party.
Considering Obama refused to wear the pin before, makes one wonder why he decides to wear one now.
Romney WON!!! O constantly looking down or at the moderator for help. LOL funny!
Romney/Ryan 2012
Well.....looks like Romney is still standing and the thrill is gone for Chris Matthews!!!!
How do you give specific details of a plan if it is a truly bi-partisan plan? Romney is correct and realistic in stating the goals he wants and then letting both sides hash it out. Something you liberal democrats know nothing about. Obama claimed specifically to reduce the deficit by half. He instead added trillion dollar deficits in each of his four years. Why no inquisition over that lie?
I always watch how candidates treat the moderator. Romney's whining and bullying to get more time didn't appear very presidential.
He's still the Cranbrook brat.
Romney willingness to cut big bird but keep big oil shows where he owes his donors favors. It just can't be important for kids to learn to count and read when there are hungry oil companies to feed.
Obama looked out of sorts. It must be hard to defend lie after lie.
He didn't have Rachel Madcow to bail him out.
CNN has Van Jones as mod: what a HooooooT!!!!!
mira, you're pathetic. Romney won. Soon it'll be your turn to ride in the back of the bus.
Seemed like a major ass kickin to me. BHO needs stitches and oxygen. Seems his arrogance got him...just thought he could mail it in. Wrong!
Romney did not convince me to vote for him.
mira: you need to watch again re the cuts, geez!
Obama's willingness to cut medicare and keep failed green energy shows where Obama owes HIS donors favors.
Obama,The Empty Suit, showed up!
ricardo, like anyone thought you might even consider voting anything different. Please spare us the drama.
Clay correctly predicted the outcome: Obama's hands are up in surrender mode.
Romney was in a tough spot. He's a major player in a Goldman Sach's hedge fund - so he can't announce any serious plans to regulate Wall Street.
His party can't stand Obamacare, so he can't run on his major legislative success.
His campaign is bought and paid for by big oil - so the only thing he is specific about is oil industry subsidies are necessary - even if we have to borrow money from China to pay for them.
I wonder if Romney is afraid that the folks writing checks for his campaign might get the wrong idea if he says something specific.
THAT was our Commander-in-Chief? He looked like the dog ate his homework. The Intern looked frazzled.
Mira: you are full of crap!!!!! What did you hear to come up with your opinion. Go find the debate and re listen.
mira forgets that Obama hired the ceo for Goldman Sachs. He works for Obama.
Obama’s Wall Street cabinet

Goldman Sachs who mira? OOPS!!
Mooooochelle's face said it all. No celebrating tonight!!!!!
Mira's in delusional land.
OK Toes - You just watched the man for 90 minutes. The transcript is now online.
Can you name three things Romney says he will do to prevent another financial meltdown?
Let's make it easy - can you name just one?
Romney's gift, like a lot of CEOs, is the ability to have words come out of his mouth without actually saying anything at all.
There just isn't any "there" there.
I felt bad for the president. Economic policy, off the cuff, isn't his strong point. No amount of smirks, chuckles and head shaking could hide that.
mira: too much kool=ade time for you to go beddy bye.
I don't think either man scored a clear victory out of this first debate, but I'm betting that perception will become reality in the end.
Mitt scored one minor zinger, when he compared the President to his "less than truthful" sons.
The fact-checkers are going to tear Mitt Romney a new anal orifice. He absolutely laid out claims that simply were not true, and he offered denials of his own words used on the campaign trail, which will only be interpreted as intentional lies.
Romney didn't come across very Presidential. He was overly animated and hyper at times. I think in the coming days, some of his words will come back to haunt him once again.
President Obama was reserved, calm, even though he allowed too many false statements to stand as presented, he will benefit from his choice to not bare his claws, as Romney did a time or two.
And you know what? Despite the same criticism back in 2008 that Obama was not aggressive enough, he still won the election
The President allowed the aggressive dog do most of the barking which most people on the fence are most likely to have found a bit annoying.
First round K.O.
Alprova in denial. I'm embarrassed that people in other countries know that Obama is our president.
Al: you too have had too much kool-ade and its time to go beddy bye. What a line of BS you have.
Bill Maher said, I can't believe I'm saying this, but Obama looks like he DOES need a teleprompter.

Big Bird is now trending on Twitter. I guess you really don't want to mess with the bird.
https://twitter.com/FiredBigBird
facy: I have been feeling that way for a long time.
mira: twitter is on fire (not the bird). even lefties are saying how bad O was.
Couple polls already out say Romney won. LOL
Miraweb said: "Romney willingness to cut big bird but keep big oil shows where he owes his donors favors. It just can't be important for kids to learn to count and read when there are hungry oil companies to feed.
Personally, I thought it was a stupid move for Mitt Romney to come after big bird. Like a lot of people WE LOVE BIG BIRD around my house. But the more I think about it I guess I shouldn't be so surprised that he would attack big bird. After all, Romney is the same man who put his family’s dog in a cage and drove him around on the roof of his car.
Got links, mymy?
And Big Bird manages the job on very little money:
All PBS Funding: $447 million
Oil Company Subsidies: $4.5 billion
Really, Mitt - Big Bird?!?
Miraweb said: And Big Bird manages the job on very little money: All PBS Funding: $447 million. . . Oil Company Subsidies: $4.5 billion. . . Really, Mitt - Big Bird?!?
Yes, but those fat cats and Bain capitalist types like to feast on big birds.
Lie #1 from Mitt Romney came in the first segment of the debate;
Romney cried foul when the President cited the fact that Romney's plan to cut taxes 20% would cost $5 trillion.
Mitt Romney: "Let me repeat what I said, I'm not in favor of a $5 trillion tax cut. That's not my plan. My plan is not to put in place any tax cut that will add to the deficit."
Was that a true statement at the time he told it?
Romney has made no secret of the fact that he is in favor of making the Bush tax cuts permanent as they stand now. He has further proposed cutting taxes for all taxpayers by an additional 20%. He has stated that he would repeal the alternative minimum tax and forever abolish the estate tax.
The Tax Policy Center, which does not pull any strings for either political party, evaluated Mitt Romney's tax plan and estimated that it would cost $4.8 trillion over 10 years.
The evaluation is that Romney's proposal would definitely not be "revenue neutral" as Romney claimed three times tonight.
Romney also thrice times claimed that his plan would be paid for by closing tax loopholes and eliminating tax "deductions and credits." But even after the President cited the fact that Romney has repeatedly declined to offer which deductions he'd eliminate, his only response was to say that "I'd work with Congress to make those decisions."
Here's something else. His doublespeak is amusing. His claim that his tax cuts would be offset by eliminating deductions, loopholes, credits, etc, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
If it were remotely true, then how would anyone realize a true tax cut? His claim that his plan is "revenue neutral" can only mean that someone at one end or the other is gonna get screwed big time and they will be making up the difference, and you just know it's not gonna be those at the top of the food chain.
Mitt's full of s**t.
