A total of 17 underage youth were transported to a juvenile detention facility and four people, all 18, were arrested after Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call where a male said he was being shot at, according to an affidavit of complaint.
When deputies arrived in the 2400 block of Edwards Point Road on Signal Mountain early this morning, people were fleeing the scene. Everyone detained had been drinking, according to the affidavit.
Alexandra Anderson, Stephen Wilkins, Trevor Thompson and Zackery Frisbee, all 18, were charged with drinking under age. They were booked at the Hamilton County Jail. All except Frisbee, who refused to take a breath test, admitted to drinking, deputies said.
All four had their bonds set at $1,000 each.
A release from the Sheriff’s Department said patrol supervisors have stated that “parties involving juveniles drinking has become a huge problem in that most are held in dangerous areas or at lake access points during the night and into the early morning hours.”
The release said that this has become an issue for the Sheriff’s Department and that those involved will be arrested and taken to the jail or detention center rather than having citations issued.
“Also when law enforcement agencies are called to incidents such as this, it ties up resources and manpower for long periods of time,” the release said. “Hopefully, young people who become involved in this type of risky behavior will stop before someone is hurt or a death occurs.”
