Lady Mocs lead Wofford at half

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team broke open a tight first half in the final 11 minutes and lead Wofford 30-17 tonight at Benjamin Johnson Arena.

The Lady Mocs had an 11-9 lead following a Meghan Downes jumper at the 13:17 mark. Neither team scored for a couple of minutes, but then UTC got on a roll and outscored the Terriers 19-8 the rest of the half.

Kylie Lambert leads UTC with six points and five rebounds. Whitney Hood has five points after missing nearly all of Monday’s win over Elon with a sore knee.

UTC hit just four of its first 14 shots, but finished the half 13 of 31 from the field.
