A man was killed this evening when a train struck him in an apparent suicide, police said.
Police received a call asking them to do a well-being check on an individual on train tracks near 3900 Cromwell Road in Chattanooga, said police department spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.
They found a white male dead on the scene. Officers can’t determine his age because of his position on the tracks, Weary said.

It will be interesting to see if this story gets the same coverage as the McDonald farm train accident.
cannonball, pretty effed up comment. pretty tasteless to some families that are still really hurting. empathy, my friend.
He must have been laying longways on one track by the way to police say "they cannot determine his age."
I pray for the family of this man. Hopefully he will be identified soon and some comfort for his family and friends. Anyone who may know something to identify this man, I pray they will come forward soon. God Bless
Prayers for this troubled soul and his family.
Rest In Peace, I feel sorry for the crew on the train, having to see something like that. I can't even imagine.
The sentence, "Officers can’t determine his age because of his position on the tracks" leaves me with more questions than answers. Poor, insensitive writing for a story about a suicide.
Follow up? Who was he? Where did he live? This happened right outside my apt. complex.
