The first of September in election years is when we welcome newly elected and re-elected local officials, as they are sworn in to office to perform a variety of important duties.
We welcome the continued service of County Mayor Claude Ramsey. Serving with him will be County Commissioners Fred Skillern, Jim Fields, Jim Coppinger, Warren Mackey, Greg Beck, Joe Graham, Larry Henry, Tim Boyd and Chester Bankston.
Chancellor Jeffrey Atherton is welcomed as a new judge.
Sheriff Jim Hammond, County Clerk Bill Knowles, Trustee Bill Hullander, Register of Deeds Pam Hurst, Criminal Court Clerk Gwen Tidwell, Circuit Court Clerk Paula Thompson and Juvenile Court Clerk Gary Behler will perform important duties.
The incumbent and new School Board members sworn in are Everett Fairchild, Jeffrey Wilson, Joe Galloway, David Testerman and Mike Evatt.
