Richard Anderson

Richard Babb Anderson, 72, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at his residence.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

John Ford Sr.

John T. "Pappy" Ford Sr., 93, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010, with his family by his side.

John was born Aug. 25, 1916, in Pine Bluff, W.Va., son of the late John and Lellia Heldreth Ford of Shinnston, W.Va. Also preceding him in death is his wife of 52 years, Virginia Kerns Ford; and grandson, Ricky Eugene Wilson.

John is survived by daughter, Janet Wilson, of Cocoa, Fla.; son, Tom Ford Jr. (Wanda), of Melbourne, Fla.; four grandchildren, Holli Kennard, Palm Bay, Chris Ford, Soddy-Daisy, and Randy and Roger Wilson, Cocoa; and three great-grandchildren.

John and his father were owners and operators of a trucking company, John Ford & Son Transfer in Shinnston, W.Va. before moving his family to Cocoa, Fla., where he was employed by Pan American World Airways at Cape Canaveral Air Station as a Machine Shop Foreman. He then went to McPherson School for Girls in Ocala, Fla., as a Maintenance Superintendent, where he retired.

He served in the Army during WW II, was a life member and Past Commander of American Legion Post #31, Shinniston, and a member of Brevard Masonic Lodge F&AM #113, Cocoa. He was a member of Alhambra Shrine, The Red Fez and Opossum Creek Shrine Clubs in Chattanooga, as well as a life member of AZAN Shrine Director Staff where he maintained and drove the AZAN Fire Truck in parades locally and elsewhere about the state.

Funeral service will be today, March 11, at 11 a.m. at Florida Memorial Funeral Home followed by graveside services at Florida Memorial Gardens.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Alhambra Shrine, P.O. Box 21822, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

Deborah Hampton

Deborah "Debbi" Lang Hampton, of Chattanooga, died at her home on Saturday, March 6, 2010, after a 15-year battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Debbi is survived by her beloved husband, Steve; her beloved daughter, Hollin Blaylock (husband, Rodney); stepchildren, Laura Hampton Nance and Christopher Nelson Hampton (wife Jennifer); brother, Jeffrey Mark Lang (wife Teresa), of Baltimore, Md.; sister, Audrey Helen Critchfield, of Latrobe, Pa.; niece, Helen Critchfield; grandchildren, Naomi and Lindi Blaylock, Jesseca and Colby Nance, Kistler, Avery and Prescott Hampton, Kylan and Sajin Cyr; and devoted friend, Ron Nance.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Partnership for Families, Children and Adults, Breast Cancer Network of Strength and St. Nicholas School-Financial Aid.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Deborah Bley Hampton will be held on Saturday, March 13, at 2 p.m. at the Rose Room in The Chattanoogan Hotel, located at 1201 Broad St.

Randall Loudermilk

Randall Alexander Loudermilk, 69, of Hixson, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010.

A native of Ducktown, Tenn., Mr. Loudermilk had been a resident of the Chattanooga area for the past 50 years and was a retired truck driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a long time pool player in the Chattanooga area.

Survivors include his daughters, Susan and Monica Loudermilk; son, Alex Loudermilk; sisters, Cheryl L. Drake and Theresa Burke; two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with the Rev. Michael Angel officiating.

Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

Loretta Mangham, 68, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at her residence.

Anzie Moates

Anzie Johnson Moates, 90, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, in a local health care facility.

She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Martha Johnson. She was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by husband, Robert L. Moates Sr.

She is survived by two sons, R.L. Moates Jr. and Philip Moates, both of Chattanooga; two daughters, Mary Thomas, Atlanta, and Robbie Stewart, Dunlap, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owens officiating.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class at Ridgedale Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

William Pursley

William Joe "Bill" Pursley, of Chattanooga, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, March 8, 2010.

He was in the care of Hospice of Chattanooga at NHC, Dunlap, Tenn.

Bill was born Feb. 13, 1953. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward J.L. Pursley; and his mother, Bessiephene Lewis Day.

He is survived by his brother Terry A. (Pat) Pursley, of Hixson; and his sister, Sharon P. (Jon) Whitehead, of Dalton, Ga. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Jason and Kathie Pursley, of Soddy-Daisy; Jennifer and John Stanton, of New York City; Julie and Jason Jones, of Chattanooga, Allison Whitehead, of Columbus, Ga.; and Dee Anna and Rob Demian, of Atlantic Highlands, N.J. He also has two great-nieces and several aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 13, at 3 p.m. at Red Bank Church of Christ, followed by visitation with family in the Fellowship Hall.

Lela Spears, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at her residence.

Georgene Throop

Georgene Throop, 66, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Erlanger.

She is survived by son, Keith and Sandy Troop; brothers, Bill and Pat DeKlavon, Dave and Jan DeKlavon, Jack and Linda DeKlavon, Bob and Janice DeKlavon; and sister, Jane and Scott Golden.

A memorial service will be Saturday, March 13, at Calvary Church at 1212 S. Seminole.

James Trivett

James Calvin Trivett, DDS, 100, of Ooltewah, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 surrounded by family and friends.

He proudly served his country for three years in the US Army during WWII as a dentist. He was married to Irma Jackson Trivett for over 70 years, practiced dentistry in Madison, Tenn., for 30 years and at age 69 passed the Georgia Dental boards so he could open a second dental office in Wildwood, Ga., where he practiced part time for an additional 10 years. His second love was gardening and many patients and neighbors were happy recipients of his labors.

He was predeceased by his brother, Andrew Trivett; sister, Jeanne McElmurry; and son, Don Trivett.

Survivors include his wife, Irma Jackson Trivett; sons, Terry Trivett and Jim Trivett; daughters, Beverly Rawson and Carol Williams; brother, Johnny Trivett; sisters, Nina Brookins, Evelyn Parmley, Ruth Hoyt, Jesse Hoyt; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous special nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be in Chattanooga First Seventh-day Adventist Church Friday noon to 2 p.m.

Pastor Bill Wilson will conduct the service in the church at 2 p.m.

Interment will be in Collegedale Memorial Park with full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to Adventist World Radio and 3ABN.

Mildred Hixson

FLINTSTONE -- Mildred Louise Hixson, 84, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, in a local hospital.

She was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and a member of Flintstone Baptist Church. Mrs. Hixson was a volunteer for the Chattanooga Red Cross for 15 years and a volunteer worker for many people.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Esther Callahan; brothers, Charles and James C. "Bill" Callahan.

Survivors are husband, Thomas F. Hixson; sisters, Ruth Graham and Barbara Chandler, both of Ringgold; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Brent Smith and Rev. Dennis McNulty officiating.

Interment in Burning Bush Cemetery.

Melba Morrison

CHICKAMAUGA -- Melba Ruth Morrison, 80, departed this life Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at her home.

She was born in Henagar, Ala., to the late Walter and Amanda Fowler, and was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Leeroy Morrison; and sister, Dean Winkles.

Melba was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Chickamauga.

She was initiated in the Order of Eastern Stars Pocahontas #165 in Rossville, on Oct. 3, 1961, and served as Worthy Matron 70-71, 89-90, 2002-2003, Grand Ruth Order of Eastern Star 2005, Grand Representative Alabama 1979-1982.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Ted) Goins, Brenda (Rick) Wright, all of Kensington; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 in the chapel with the Rev. Charles McElhaney officiating.

Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

Family will receive friends after 4 p.m. today and prior to the service Friday.

Mary Muldoon

COLLINSVILLE -- Mary Claire Muldoon, 85, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010.

Preceded in death by parents, Robert and Helen Hartley; brothers, Walter Hartley and Robert Hartley.

Survivors include daughter, Carol A. Barnes, Collinsville; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren.

Kathleen Ringer

HIGDON -- Kathleen Faye Ringer, 72, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 9, 2010.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Kathy was well-known for her culinary skills, and her seamstress skills sought after through the years. She took pride in taking care of all the details that pleased her family and made their home a welcome place for family and friends. Her home was filled with music, and she sang with the Ladies of Grace, and was a faithful member of Ownbey Chapel Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Mrs. Ringer was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Rosie Mitchell; daughter, Dwan Farmer; four brothers; one sister.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Alvin Ringer; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Anita Ringer, of Trenton, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Richard McCurdy, of Knoxville, and Robin and Darren Mitchell, of Higdon, Ala.; sisters Mertice Meyer, Nelda Reid, Lorene Boddy and Gladys Borah; numerous nieces and nephews; host of friends.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. EDT Friday in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Mitchell and Dr. Filler officiating.

Visitation today 3 p.m.-9 p.m. and Friday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. EDT.
