University of Tennessee: Vols get 2010 basketball commitment

KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee men’s basketball team got its first Class of 2010 commitment Wednesday.

Six-foot point guard Aaron Craft from Findlay, Ohio, pledged to the Vols.

Craft, a high school junior, has been recruited by several Division I programs but only had offers from UT, Bowling Green, Dayton and Miami of Ohio, according to Rivals.com. Butler and Michigan have also shown significant interest to the Craft, who reportedly scored 32 on the ACT.

The Vols have six new players enrolled this fall from their star-studded 2008 class, and they don’t seem to have much room for the 2009 class — which currently has just one public commitment, from highly-touted power forward Kenny Hall from the Atlanta-area. The 2010 class is expected to be much larger.

Craft plays on an Ohio-based AAU program that features more prominently-known recruits.
