Unum says leads in long-term care
Unum Group sold more cases, covered more lives and earned more premium than any other insurer through its employer-sponsored group long-term care product in 2007, the company said.
Unum added nearly 1,200 businesses and about 83,000 employees in 2007, according to the Chattanooga-based company.
“The aging of the work force, the shift of health care costs to employees and the government attention and publicity long term care has received have contributed to the favorable spotlight long term care insurance is now in,” said Mike Simonds, Unum US’ chief marketing officer.
