Hamilton County WWTA may lift hold on $8 fee next month

The Hamilton County Water and Wastewater Treatment Authority’s board may lift its hold on an $8 fee for 24,000 gravity sewer customers as early as next month, the board chairman said today.

Chairman Henry Hoss said a self-imposed hold on implementing the fee could be lifted in August if the two remaining public meetings on the fee plan go smoothly. But, he said, the hold may not be lifted until September.

Wayne Hamill, who represents Red Bank on the board, said “appropriate legal action” will be taken in the form of an injunction to stop implementing the fee.

The remaining public meetings are in Soddy-Daisy on Thursday and in East Ridge on July 31.
