Red Robin Gourmet Burgers opens its ninth Tennessee restaurant next to the future Barnes & Noble in Hamilton Place mall in East Brainerd Monday at 11 a.m.
The Colorado-based chain serves gourmet burgers, appetizers, entrees, salads and beverages in a family-friendly atmosphere, said Jamie Minkin, a spokeswoman for Red Robin.
“I believe the Red Robin Gourmet Burgers concept will fit in very well,” she said. “Chattanooga is a great growing community and a great fit for us.”
Red Robin specializes in gourmet burgers, which Ms. Minkin said are made of ingredients such as crispy onion straws, fried egg and Cole slaw and “some great things that are out of the box from the plain burger.”
The 5,896-square-foot restaurant will seat 197 guests. The restaurant will employ more than 100 people at its Chattanooga location.
Red Robin currently has eight additional restaurants in Tennessee, all in the Nashville and Memphis areas.
As part of the restaurant’s grand opening celebrations, it will host a fundraiser called Burgers With A Heart to benefit the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The fundraiser runs during the restaurant’s opening week, with 50 cents from every burger going to the organization.
In the week before the restaurant opening, customers were invited to come in for meals to help employees through the training process.
“It helps our team to get a feel for what it is going to be like to be open for business,” she said.
Katherine Pangratz, spokeswoman for Hamilton Place, already has eaten at the restaurant. She said the mall’s tenants are excited.
“They are an excellent addition to our collection of stores,” she said.
Ms. Minkin said the restaurant is focused on providing a family-friendly environment and recently was named one of the 10 best family restaurants in the country by Parents magazine.
