Life on the road can be tough for an up and coming band. The Orlando, Fla.-based Cure for Caska, on their first tour, had several items stolen from their vehicle while in Charlotte, N.C. Luckily, none of their musical instruments were snatched and the tour can go on. Cure for Caska is the project of Matthew Hayes. His bandmates produce a “wall of sound” around Hayes’ lush vocals, reminiscent of recent work by Sufjan Stevens. The band definitely has their own sound, however, as you’ll hear on this week’s MUSICcast. Their first CD “the Seasons” is scheduled for release today.

The Matt Stephens project is back in town tonight with Five to One: a Tribute to the Doors. The show is at Rhythm & Brews downtown. Showtime is 10 p.m.

Robben Ford headlines at Nightfall this evening. He was responsible for much of the guitar work on later Joni Mitchell albums as well as his own blues albums. Showtime is 7p.m.

The Lovell Sisters Band is in town to play the Barking Legs Theater on Saturday night. Tickets are $13. Showtime is 8 p.m.
