Pearl makes early stop at Orange Grove in Chattanooga

Staff File Photo by Brett Clark University of Tennessee Basketball coach Bruce Pearl speaks at the Chattanooga Better Business Bureau luncheon at The Chattanoogan April 14.

University of Tennessee men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl was back in Chattanooga this morning.

Pearl, who just completed his third year with the Vols and led the team to its first outright SEC regular-season title in 41 years, was the speaker at a breakfast fundraiser at Orange Grove. Pearl was the speaker Monday at the Better Business Bureau event at the Chattanooga.

The outgoing and energetic Pearl said today’s speaking engagement was one of the earliest he’s done.

“Especially when you consider what time we got up to leave Knoxville this morning,” Pearl said. “But it’s such a good cause, and it’s always fun to see people here and around the state.”
